Barkoutsiders久々となるシルバーアクセサリー、「TRADING POST CONCHO」。
The first silver jewelry piece from Barkoutsiders, the “TRADING POST CONCHO.”
1930〜50年代頃のOLD NAVAJOをイメージし、京都の彫金職人・小鍛冶氏と共に製作したコンチョです。
Inspired by Old Navajo jewelry from the 1930s to 1950s, this concho was handcrafted in collaboration with Kyoto-based silversmith Kokaji.
“Trading Post（トレーディングポスト）“とは、当時のネイティブアメリカンたちが毛皮や銀細工を食料品や生活用品と交換していた交易所のこと。
A “Trading Post” was a place where Native Americans exchanged furs, silverwork, and other handcrafted goods for food and everyday necessities.
その場所から生まれたインディアンジュエリーの文化や製法に敬意を込め、現代の日本のものづくりで表現しました。
This piece pays tribute to the culture and craftsmanship that emerged from those trading posts, reinterpreted through contemporary Japanese craftsmanship.

当時のナバホの職人たちは、現在のようなスターリングシルバーの板材を自由に使える環境ではありませんでした。
At the time, Navajo silversmiths did not have easy access to sterling silver sheet stock as we do today.
モルガンダラーやメキシコ銀貨などの銀貨を溶かし、インゴットを作り、それを何度も叩きながらジュエリーへと仕立てていました。
Instead, they melted silver coins such as Morgan Dollars and Mexican pesos into ingots, then repeatedly hammered them into jewelry by hand.
今回のコンチョも、その背景を大切に考え、スターリングシルバーを一度溶かしてインゴットを製作。
Honoring this traditional process, we first melted sterling silver into an ingot before shaping each concho.
そこから一つひとつ手作業で成形しています。
Every piece is then individually formed by hand.
工業製品のように均一ではなく、インゴットならではの柔らかな表情や温もりを感じていただけると思います。
Rather than the uniform appearance of mass-produced jewelry, each concho carries the warmth, softness, and subtle individuality unique to ingot silver.

中央には、アメリカ・アリゾナ州キングマン鉱山産のスタビライズドターコイズを使用しました。
At the center is a stabilized Kingman Turquoise sourced from the famous Kingman Mine in Arizona, USA.
インゴットシルバーとキングマンターコイズの組み合わせは、ヴィンテージのインディアンジュエリーでも数多く見られるクラシックな仕様です。
The pairing of ingot silver and Kingman Turquoise is one of the most classic combinations found in vintage Native American jewelry.
近年では良質なアメリカンターコイズの流通量も減少し、年々希少な素材となっています。
Today, high-quality American turquoise has become increasingly scarce, making it more valuable each year.

スタンプワークは、ヴィンテージジュエリーを参考に一つひとつ手作業で施しています。
Each stamp pattern is individually applied by hand, inspired by vintage Native American jewelry.
柄は「Morning Star」と「Sun Blossom」の2種類をご用意しました。
Available in two traditional patterns: “Morning Star” and “Sun Blossom.”
どちらもOLD NAVAJOらしい素朴さと力強さを感じられるデザインです。

For many years, I have been inspired by American culture, vintage craftsmanship, and Native American jewelry, experiencing countless authentic pieces and natural stones firsthand in the United States.
その経験をもとに、日本の職人の技術と融合させた、Barkoutsidersらしいシルバーアクセサリーになったと思います。
This concho represents that journey, combining those experiences with the precision and artistry of Japanese craftsmanship to create something uniquely Barkoutsiders.
